RAM / Lloyd's of London
RAM is a Lloyd's Coverholder, this means that Lloyd's have given us their approval and essentially we are a ‘virtual insurer’ with full authorisation from Lloyd's to underwrite and issue policies in our own name, administer schemes including quotations, premium and commission handling and of course, claims settlement.
Given this, the term 'virtual insurer’ relates to our ability to act just like an insurance company.
We currently hold binding authority agreements with Lloyd’s Syndicates and 100% of all risks are placed into Lloyd's of London. The Lloyd’s syndicates with whom we have a relationship are of excellent financial standing, recognised as robust and have an outstanding record of claims settlement. The Corporation of Lloyd’s has existed since 1688 and has been a pioneer in insurance, growing for over 300 years to become the world’s leading market for specialist insurance.
Lloyd’s is part of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, just like any other UK insurer.
